Purchasing hardware and software at UST...

All institutional purchases of IT products (e.g., computers, printers, cables, etc.) are managed by the IRT Budgets and Acquisition Team. By doing so, departments take advantage of price breaks as a result of aggregate buying. University-wide management of software licensing ensures that the university remains in compliance with software copyright laws and centralized hardware leasing ensures standard hardware is available throughout the university and replaced in a timely manner.

Purchasing hardware and/or software is easy.  Just send a message to IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu.  Please include the following info:

  • The software title or hardware you would like to purchase (or for which you would like to get more information)
  • Your budget index number
  • The AssetID number of the computer on which you would like the software or hardware to be installed. The AssetID number can be found on a white/silver sticker on the side of the computer (not the monitor, unless you have a Mac desktop) and looks like this: A000xxxxx.

If you wish to purchase IT products for your personal, non-work related use, on campus the UST bookstores can assist you in obtaining high-quality technology products at an educational discount. The bookstores also assists students in purchasing computers as they enroll in the university. Online, the UST TechStore is a place for faculty, staff, students, and alumni to purchase hardware, software, and peripherals at a discount for personal use.
