Outlook Web Access

An introduction to using Outlook Web Access (OWA)...

The University uses IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol); this protocol allows you to check your mail from multiple locations such as your home, your residence hall, or your office without having to download the messages to the computer you are using. The messages are actually stored at a central location, which makes it easier to manage and access your messages.

Every member of the St. Thomas community with an active UST account is allotted a specific amount a disk space for email messages on the IMAP server. Your messages are stored on this space and you can access them from any computer that has an Internet connection.

Outlook Web Access

The Outlook Web Access (OWA) application allows members of the St. Thomas community with a UST email account to access their mail from any location with an internet connected web browser.  OWA is the most common way St. Thomas students access their email from on or off campus.

OWA Features:

  • OWA allows users to send and check email, turn on or off out of office messages, retrieve deleted emails, organize email folders, and access Outlook Calendar functions.
  • OWA is accessible on all current web browsers, however as web browsers vary in design and function, be aware that some browsers may have more limited functionality than others.
  • OWA users using Internet Explorer (Windows) are able to spell check outgoing messages, using the calendaring feature, and dragging and dropping messages within OWA to folders within the mailbox.

To login to OWA:

If you have problems accessing your email account through OWA, contact the IRT Tech Desk.
