Whether you primarily use Outlook, Entourage, or Outlook Web Access (OWA), please use the instructions listed below to forward your UST email to a non-UST email address. Please note: you will only be able to access this feature by connecting to your e-mail box via OWA on Internet Explorer.
Choosing a Forward or Redirect rule?
Both options accomplish the same end result. But, there are subtle differences between the two that affect how mail is processed once it hits an inbox
Choosing the option to "forward" your mail will result in all incoming mail being forwarded directly to a third party email address. A copy will not be saved in the inbox or sent items folders. The mail sent to the third party mailbox will appear as though it had been sent from your UST mail account, which takes away the opportunity to use the "reply" feature.
Choosing to "redirect" email to a third party address does preserve the original sender's email address, which allows the "reply" feature to still work. However, if you do choose the redirect option, all mail will remain in the UST email box and will continue to be counted against your mail quota.
Important note: Please be aware of what the email quota is on mailbox to which you have forwarded your UST mail. Your UST mail messages will continue to be forwarded to the non-UST account even if its quota has been surpassed, which will likely result in missed messages.
Setting up a forward rule using OWA
1. Log into OWA using Internet Explorer (click here if you need help logging into OWA),
