Using Copy-and-Paste in Collage                                  back

You may have text content that already exists on your pre-Collage web page, or in other text-based documents. You can use the copy-and-paste method to move that content into your Collage web page. But we do recommend a particular process to help ensure this text goes into the Collage editor smoothly. Please read on!

Recommendation:
Use the software application called Notepad as your intermediary between the original document and the Collage editor. Copy the text from the original document into Notepad first. This will strip away any existing formatting or hypertext codes from the text. Then, copy the text again from Notepad, and paste it into the web page in your Collage editor. The text you paste into Collage will now be simple, clean text, and you can apply your Collage editor template styles as needed.

Keyboard Shortcuts:
To copy text:   Ctrl-C
To paste text:  Ctrl-V
To select all text on a page:  Ctrl-A

You can launch Notepad as follows:

On your windows desktop, click the Start button. Point to Programs. On the menu that appears, point to Accessories. On the menu that appears, point and click on Notepad. In Notepad, use the Paste function to load the text you copied. In Notepad, click on the Format menu, and be sure Word Wrap is turned on (checked). The text you pasted will be easier to see.
