Adobe Presenter

Adobe Presenter is a plug-in for PowerPoint for recording, editing and synchronizing digital audio with a presentation.

All that is needed to create a presentation is PowerPoint, the Presenter plug-in, and a microphone or headset connected to your computer. Content in a presentation can include audio, Flash video (FLV format), images (JPEG files), synchronized animations, Captivate files, and interactive quizzes and surveys.

When published, presentations are converted to Flash (swf) presentations which can be uploaded to a web site, into Blackboard, or saved to a CD-ROM.

Viewing a Breeze presentation requires only a computer with speakers or headset, a web browser and the Flash plug-in.

What are some educational uses of Adobe Presenter?

  • Prepare students to participate more actively in a face-to-face class by introducing concepts and course topics through a narrated PowerPoint presentation.
  • Provide supplementary instruction and clarification to a classroom lecture by adding audio to the PowerPoint lecture notes already presented in class.
  • Formative assessment: provide immediate feedback to students by inserting quizzes in a narrated presentation.
