Long Distance
Overview
In order to make a long distance phone call from on-campus you must use a long distance code provided by IRT.
Getting Started
Rates
Our domestic flat rates are:
$.10 per minute
Obtaining an Authorization Code
If you are an on-campus student, you already have an authorization code assigned to you. When you arrive on campus in the fall, you receive an email in your St. Thomas account giving you your phone number, your voicemail information and passcode, and your long distance authorization code. If you did not receive this information, contact the IRT Tech Desk.
If you are an off-campus student but would like to take advantage of our long distance rates (while on campus) contact the IRT Tech Desk for an authorization code.
Dialing
After obtaining a long distance authorization code, dial 8 + 1 + area code + number. At the tone, enter your code and your call will complete.
Billing
Payments may be made at the Business Office on the first floor of Murray-Herrick or sent to the Business Office, MHC 105.
