Mobile Phones

Overview

All wireless devices on campus will need to have their MAC (Media Access Control) addresses registered in our network authentication system in order to connect to the internet. If you would like to connect your smart phone to the UST wireless network, please view the instructions below to help you find your device's MAC address and then fill out the form below to submit your information to the IRT Tech Desk. Once your request has been received it may take up to 24 hours for your phone to be registered on the network.

UST offers Exchange Active Sync (EAS) as an optional service that allows you to sync your mobile device to your UST email, calendar, and contacts. Devices connected to EAS at UST require a higher level of security. When you configure EAS, you will be asked to set a password for your mobile device. The password must be at least 4 characters and will require reset every 120 days. The system will not let you reuse one of your previous 6 passwords and will allow you to fail no more than 10 times before disabling and wiping the device. Depending on the device, you will need to supply some, or all, of the following information to turn EAS on:

Email address Your UST email address
(do not use an alias e-mail address)
Domain Name stthomas.edu
Username Your UST username
Password Your UST password
ActiveSync Server mail.stthomas.edu
SSL Enabled
