Overview
IRT offers Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus software for free to all faculty, staff, and students. Anti-virus software is used to prevent malicious files and programs from attacking your computer. By keeping your anti-virus software up-to-date and running scans regularly you can greatly decrease your chances of getting a virus.
Getting Started
Before installing SEP on your personally owned computer, please do the following:
- Uninstall all previous versions of anti-virus software running on your computer.
- Be sure that you are logged on to your computer with an account with administrative privileges.
- Download the correct version (32-bit or 64-bit). If you are unsure what type of operating system you have please contact the Tech Desk.
