New and Improved Print Management Software to be Implemented this Fall
IRT upgraded UST’s printing environment with a new print tracking software called PaperCut. This system emphasizes cost reduction and sustainability through the PaperCut user webpage which shows quota balances and environmental impact.
The student print quota will continue to be the equivalent of 400 grayscale pages, or $32 per term based on a cost of 8 cents per-page for grayscale and 50 cents for color. Duplex printing (back to back) will be the default on all campus print devices to reduce paper usage.
Printing is available from personal computers to a UST printer by installing the PaperCut software or through printing via WebPrint, a feature within PaperCut.
In addition to our new print management software, new multi-function printers have been installed across campus allowing for print release via UST ID card swipe. There is also the ability to scan documents or print a saved PDF out directly from the USB flashdrive.
