
The IT department is divided into four support teams:
The Application Development team is focused on supporting the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, the Data Warehouse and all the closely related systems. UST uses SunGuard Higher Education's Banner product for the ERP system, and their related Operational Data Store (ODS) for the Data Warehouse. Secondary systems supported by this team include Appworx, e-visions, TouchNet, Oracle Warehouse Builder, and QAS. The team's primary focuses are on system upgrades, system enhancements, and system integration.

The Business Intelligence (BI) team partners with the UST community to provide the necessary knowledge and tools that will assist them in making accurate and informed business decisions. The BI team focuses on supporting the Enterprise reporting environment by utilizing the Cognos suite of products which includes ReportNet, PowerPlay, and Framework Manager. The services offered include training, consulting and troubleshooting.

The Operations and Technical Support team is focused on maintaining servers and databases. The team is comprised of Server Administrators and Database Administrators. The Technical Process Analysts team is focused on project management, process improvement, and document management. Team members are called on to be project managers, to be process improvement consultants, to document requirements, or to execute test plans. The team also supports the document management tool, Optix. For Optix, the team does the planning, requirements gathering, building of screens and workflows, and training for departments.
