The Information Technology (IT) department maintains the back end servers that are used for most applications and technical services at the University of St. Thomas. The IT department is comprised of 30 people - divided into four support teams; Operations and Technical Support, Application Development, Technical Process Analysts, and Business Intelligence.
IT supports over 180 servers running 60+ applications. The equipment is split between two data centers, one on the St. Paul campus and one on the Minneapolis campus. Learn more about UST technology.
Our staff tend to be people working towards a degree at St. Thomas, are an alum of St. Thomas or people who prefer an organization focused on excellence without the corporate feel. Staff also believe in the intrinsic nature of education and enjoy knowing that they are contributing to something bigger than just a company's bottom line.
IT's objective is to remain in the center to slightly ahead of the marketplace regarding technology adoption. In doing so, IT is able to offer systems that strike an appropriate balance between functionality, stability, and fiscal responsibility.
Whether you're sending an email, doing and assignment in Blackboard, or even just logging into a computer, odds are your interacting with one of the servers IT maintains.
