Linda Hulbert Associate Director for Technical Services Linda has an MA in library science from the University of Iowa and an MA Public Administration from St. Louis University. She has been with the University of St. Thomas since October of 2002 and prior to that Linda was with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, St. Louis University Health Sciences Library, SUNY Health Sciences Library, Syracuse and the University of Iowa Health Sciences Library. The North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG), Medical Library Association (MLA), St. Louis Medical Librarians and the Upstate New York Ontario Chapter (UNYOC) have received the bulk of her external energies. Linda has published and presented in the areas of collection development, fund accounting, database searching, serials (electronic and print) and teaching.
Linda's responsibilities include:
- Acquisitions (ordering, receiving, invoicing) all formats: books (print and electronic), media (DVD, VHS, streaming video and audio), periodicals (electronic, print and microform) and standing orders.
- Binding journals
- Cataloging of all the above formats so that the CLICnet catalog is a complete system for accessing holdings regardless of format and whether or not we own, rent or provide streamlined access to.
- Collection Development
- Database (CLICnet) management, cleanup, enhancement, authority control
- Evaluation of books for rebinding or replacement
- Fund allocation and accounting (over 250 funds)
- Licensing examination for electronic resources prior to University approval
- Processing (labeling for stacks use)
- Serials (periodical and standing orders) management including stacks management
- Student supervision in these areas
