INITIAL OFFERS (click to view)

(a) If I am offered a position in Clinic on April 3, I will accept or reject that offer in person by signing the Clinic Acceptance delivered to my student mailbox and returning it to the Legal Services Clinic, 1128 Harmon Place, Suite 100, by 4:00 pm on April 7. If an acceptance in person is not made in time, the offer is considered revoked, and an offer will be made to a person on the waitlist.

(b) If I am offered a Clinic position from the waitlist in April 2009, I will accept the offer in person by signing the Clinic Acceptance sent to me with the offer and returning it to Clinic by 4:00 pm the next business day. If an acceptance in person is not made in time, the offer is considered revoked.

(c) I understand that if I accept a position in the Fall 2009 Clinic, I will not be allowed to drop the course after July 31, 2009;

(d) I understand that if I accept a position in the Spring 2010 Clinic, I will not be allowed to drop the course after December 4, 2009;

(e) If I am offered a Clinic position from the waitlist in August 2009 or December 2009, I will accept or reject the offer by 4:00 pm the next business day by e-mail to Kathy Bredesen klbredesen@stthomas.edu OR in person at the Clinic office in the Harmon Court building.

(f) Orientation is an essential part of participation in the clinic. I understand that if admitted to the Clinic I am required to attend orientation August 20 and 21, 2009, for Fall 2009 clinic and January 8 and 9, 2010, for Spring 2010 clinic. Students who do not participate fully in orientation generally may not participate in clinic. We will consider excusing students on a case-by-case basis for unavoidable conflicts that are not created by the student after the student was made aware of the dates of orientation. Any request for an absence must be made to the Director of Clinical Education by the student as soon as s/he becomes aware of the conflict.
