Dr. Daniel Carey
Dept. of Health and Human Performance
Dr. Carey is assistant professor in the Health and Human Performance
Department. His area of expertise is exercise Physiology. He teaches Physiology, exercise
Physiology, Special Populations, and Measurement and Evaluation. He is a big proponent of
preventive health and the part of preventive health may play in limiting rising health care
costs. He is a member of the Institutional Review Board and Fringe Benefits Committee.

Madonna McDermott
Student Health Services & Wellness Center
Madonna is a Nurse Practitioner and Director of UST Student Health Services
and Wellness Center. Her Masters of Science Degree from Oregon Health Sciences University
was in Community Health Care Systems and has a long held passion for health promotion.

Donna Baisden Division of Finance & Administration
Donna works in the College of Business and has been
with the University for eleven years. She brings to the committee her enthusiasm, support and
belief in the benefits of exercise, physical activity and preventive healthcare. She would like
to see more participation and feedback from faculty and staff in the many activities
the committee will offer this coming year.

Lisa Keiser Dept. of Health and Human Performance
Lisa works in the Health and Human Performance Department and the Athletic
Department and has been working at the University of St. Thomas for 4 years. Lisa
has participated in almost all of the Healthy U programs such as Yoga, 10,000 steps,
brown bag lunches and fitness testing. She really enjoys the programs and is
excited to be on the committee to promote health and fitness in the future to
fellow faculty and staff.

Mary McGrath University Relations
Mary graduated from St. Thomas in 1990 with a B.A. degree and
then worked at St. Thomas for 6 years with her last position being
in the President's Office. While working at St. Thomas, she earned
a degree in physical therapy at the College of St. Catherine's
and left St. Thomas in 1999 to pursue a career in physical therapy.
After five years of working as a therapist, Mary has returned
to St. Thomas to work in Marketing Communications. She continues
to practice physical therapy on the weekends
for both Regions and HCMC trauma centers. Mary served as a member
of the Wellness Committee for Health East and is pleased to be
part of the Healthy U Committee.
