Here are the pay rates for Academic Year Technical positions. The levels are listed with the payrates next to them, followed by descriptions for each position.

Level 1 $8.00
Perform entry-level duties with basic knowledge of pc’s and operating systems. Work under direct supervision.

Level 2 $8.50
Perform basic problem solving, helping with programming fundamentals, installations. Assist with first level computer installations, keeping software packages and computer equipment working properly. Familiar with 2 programming languages and/or previous related work experience and/or have completed related course work. Work under supervisor direction.

Level 3 $9.00
Higher level of problem solving and able to assist clients and staff with variety of software and hardware platforms. Assists with installations, troubleshooting and supporting software and computer equipment. Familiar with 2 or more programming languages, previous related experience and/or have completed related course work. Ability to work independently.

Level 4 $9.50 - $11.00
Provides support for at least 8 including 4 advanced, software packages or technical areas. Keeps labs running smoothly, assists with installations, troubleshooting and supporting software and computer equipment. Solid troubleshooting skills and experience handling common network and software problems. Ability to work independently and assist clients with projects.

Level 5 $11.50 - $13.00
Assist with configuring, testing and using/maintaining some of UST’s most complex computing resources. Provide course assistance and consulting. Have solid troubleshooting skills, experience handling network, software and hardware problems. NOTE: Undergrads cannot exceed this level.

Level 6 $13.50 - $15.75
As a graduate student performs the more complex specialist level work as described in Level 5 above. Requires significant work experience in the specialty area in which they are working.
