Student Pay Rates Regular Grid
Here you will find the Summer Regular pay rates. The descriptions for each level are listed first and the payrates that correspond are listed below in the grid. Level 1: Entry Level: little or no prior experience required, duties carried out according to straightforward and standardized policies/procedures. Work consists of frequently repeated tasks that are closely related, clear cut and unvarying from day to day.
Level 2:
2nd level in a series: requires some prior experience or training: work consists of situations or duties requiring interpretation of standard policies and procedures to be able to recommend the appropriate course of action. Some independent judgment is expected.
Level 3:
3rd level in a series: requires advanced training, certification or significant prior experience. Work consists of more diverse duties requiring independent judgment in interpreting and selecting alternative courses of action. AND/OR Guides and directs the work of others as a Lead Worker. May include staffing/scheduling, assigning work and orienting/educating students.
Level 4:
4th level in a series. This level requires that the position be set up as an Internship where it is required that the student perform work that is directly related to their major course of study, is a junior or above in their studies. This position should be working with a supervisor who will serve as a mentor throughout the internship. Work assigned should be of a level that is higher than a regular student position, typically project work which will allow for learning opportunities.
