Online courses are available for MS Office Suite and Business Professional courses. You can take these courses at your own pace and on your own schedule. The Human Resources Department recommends these resources for employees who want to become more proficient in certain job competencies and prefer individual instruction.
The MS Office Suite includes basic and advanced online computer training for Microsoft Office software. The Business Professional courses include a large collection of business related training in a wide range of topics for employees and supervisors.
You will need to establish an account in order to access these online courses. Because of the limited number of licenses available, your access will expire after two weeks. Please identify which course collection, MS Office Suite or Business Professional you wish to access and send an email with that information to the Leadership Academy at ldrshp_acad@stthomas.edu. You will be provided with a login and access key code to establish an account. You can expect to receive your access code within 48 hours of your request. Your access will remain active for two weeks.
Think of this tool much the same as you would when planning to take classroom training: identify your training need, plan time in your schedule for the online instruction, and then request access.
Our learning management system software at UST is called Blackboard. It is used by faculty to deliver content and instruction via the web in the form of a Blackboard course. Formal and informal organizations throughout the university use Blackboard for information sharing, collaboration and communication via a Blackboard community. Instructional videos and help sheets are available for Blackboard.
Internet Native Banner is the university's "system of record" for alumni, employee, financial, and student information. Murphy Online is a self-service collection of tools that also access our Banner database. Access to the Banner Student Module of Internet Native Banner requires training either in person or via online training videos and quizzes.
Instructional training videos to learn about the electronic timesheet system are available from the Payroll Department.
