New Employee Welcome

Many of us know intuitively that most individuals want to work for an employer that offers a welcoming work environment. There are many characteristics of a great workplace. One characteristic that reflects the overall culture of an institution is the employer’s commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere in which all employees—especially those just joining the campus community—can truly feel a part of something special.

This program includes greeting cards for new employees and public announcements of their joining St. Thomas. Sending greeting cards to new employees is another way St. Thomas welcomes them to the campus community. This gesture also attempts to convey in some small way the University’s appreciation for new employees choosing the University as their employer.
 
Publicly announcing the appointment of new employees is the final strategy that St. Thomas uses to introduce them to the campus community and acknowledge their employment. The announcement is in the form of a brief article in the Bulletin Today (the University’s newsletter), which lists the names, job titles, and hiring units or departments of new employees.
