Voluntary Retirement Incentive Programs

The University of St. Thomas is pleased to announce a new voluntary retirement incentive program for part-time, benefits eligible staff. Consistent with the previous program for full-time staff and tenured faculty, part-time staff who meet certain eligibility criteria may apply for participation in the respective program. The purpose of the program is two-fold: (1) to enable the University to reduce its institutional expenditures and (2) to provide an attractive monetary incentive to eligible employees who have given the University many years of service but who have made the decision to retire in the near future.

Beginning March 8, 2010, eligible part-time staff will have 60 days – until May 7, 2010 – to submit an application to the Human Resources Department for participation in this unique voluntary program for part-time, benefits eligible staff. No applications will be accepted after this period.

Retirement incentives include salary continuation for one year prorated to the part-time employee’s FTE and the opportunity to continue health insurance coverage at the university employee rate for up to 3 years.

Details of the program can be found in the Summary of the Voluntary Retirement Incentive Programs
