| An overview of the changing social, cultural and political roles of women from the 17th century to the present. Topics include: family economy, industrialization of home and workplace, servitude and slavery, voluntary associations, women's rights, the development of women's professions, and an evaluation of various approaches to equalizing opportunity for women.
