Jill M. Manske holds a Ph.D. in Immunology and a Master’s Degree in Public Health. She regularly teaches undergraduate courses in Immunology, Emerging Infectious Disease, Global Health, and Women’s Health. Her research interests include both basic science and pedagogy.  Her most recent publications have been on maternal influenza vaccination, science and society, and science pedagogy. 

 

In addition to serving as chair of the department, Dr. Manske is the Director of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives for the University of St. Thomas. She has served as Associate Chair of the Department of Biology, Chair of the College of Arts and Sciences Faculty, Director of the Women’s Studies Program, Director of the Division of Science and Mathematics, and Chair of the Health Professions Advising Committee at the University of St. Thomas. She was a member of the Education Committee of the American Association of Immunologists, a visiting research fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, and is a AAC&U STIRS (Scientific Thinking and Reasoning Skills) Fellow.  She served as a councilor in the Biology Division of The Council on Undergraduate Research a program reviewer for CUR’s program review services.
