Bridget Duoos earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Sports Biomechanics from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN after completing B.A. teaching degrees in both Physical Education and Health Education from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. She has been at the University of St. Thomas in the Health and Human Performance department since 1995. Bridget teaches Kinesiology, Biomechanics and Research Methods for Exercise Science. She is a strong proponent of student research and has collaborated with students in their research and grant writing. Bridget’s research interests lie in the over arm throw and cross-country skiing. She co-authored a book for K-12 physical educators on teaching cross-country skiing in 2012. Bridget is long-time member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), the Minnesota Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MN AHPERD), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the Northland Chapter of ACSM and the International Sports Biomechanics Society (ISBS). She has been recognized with a Presidential Award and the Lou Keller Award from MN AHPERD and the 2013 AAHPERD Central District Scholar Award. |
