Course Description:
An in-depth examination of relevant, critical health issues. Techniques for identifying and researching the issues plus appropriate teaching strategies will be addressed along with effective health and wellness promotional strategies. Examples of health issues include stress management, death education, HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy, national and global health issues, etc. Advanced helping skills will be included. Emphasis on mastery of telecommunication including: Web page design, Internet research, grant writing, and computer-enhanced presentations and teaching. Prerequisites: HLTH 440/441 and 450/451 (may be taken concurrently) or permission of instructor
