The University of St. Thomas provides committee evaluations for students applying to osteopathic and/or allopathic medical schools. Letters are available to currently enrolled students, as well as alumni who are within 18 months of having completed their UST undergraduate degree at the time of the committee letter deadline . The committee letter is based on the student’s academic and disciplinary record, extracurricular activities, recommendations by three St. Thomas faculty members and a 45 minute panel interview. Students typically interview during spring semester just prior to the summer they plan to submit their medical school application.
Students planning to apply to medical school should email the pre-health professsions advisor, Darcel Brommer firstname.lastname@example.org, to express their interest in participating in the committee letter process. Please include your UST ID number and the year in which you hope to enter medical school in your message. Upon verification of eligibility to receive a committee letter, students will be enrolled to a special Blackboard site. Students are responsible for uploading their Committee Letter Request Form and all required supplemental documents to the aforementioned Blackboard site.
The 2014 Committee Letter Request Form is due Monday, April 14, 2014. Note: Students who miss stated deadlines are ineligible for a committee letter.
PLEASE NOTE: These forms need to be completed in Adobe Reader only.
