UST Web Page Templates
Note: This style guide is to be used for departments that are
using the newest Web site design. Those departments, which are using the
current design, should not follow these guides and should keep making changes
as they have been until they are upgraded into the newest design.
The templates are the foundation for all new Web pages and should be
implemented as part of each section's design. There are three main types of templates:
Home Page Template (Level 1)
Subordinate Page Templates (Level 2-4)
Subordinate Page Templates (Level 5-unlimited)
Level 1 Template
Requirements
• University of St. Thomas graphic identity
• Site tools
• Global UST navigation
• Header Graphic with larger primary title (To be designed by the St. Thomas design team)
• A graphic or photograph in the top left of the left-hand column
• Persistent local or department links
• Welcoming content in the content area
• A department-specific footer that includes required contact information
Optional
• Dynamic functionality (spotlight, news & announcements, etc.)
• UST Quicklinks
• Site-specific navigation
• Page links resources
Subordinate Page Templates (Level 2-4)
Subordinate Page Templates (Level 5-unlimited)
Requirements
• University of St. Thomas graphic identity
• Site tools
• Global UST navigation
• Header graphic with smaller primary title with larger secondary title
(To be designed by the St. Thomas design team)
• Persistent local or department links
• The navigation within levels 2-4 will allow for 3 levels of sub-navigation within the left-hand column. Any further sub-navigation will be designed into the content areas.
• The header titles and photographs can be unique for each level
• A department-specific footer that includes required contact information
Optional
• UST Quicklinks
• Site-specific navigation
• Pages can be 2 or 3 columns below the header
Level 5-Unlimited Templates
Requirements
• Same as Level 2-4 Templates, with the exception that the headers within that specific 4th level will not change from Level 5-Unlimited pages
Optional
• Same as Level 2-4 templates
