Career Highlights:
 
Dr. Waite began his career as an assistant professor of English at the University of Maine. From there, he moved to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore,California,where he edited technical reports and journal articles related to nuclear weapons design.  For the next 24 years, he was an information developer at IBM Corporation in Rochester, MN, where his primary responsibility was planning and implementing the conversion of printed manuals to online documentation for the AS/400 computer.  For his contribution to the invention of the Index Search function on the AS/400, he earned an IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement award and a U.S. patent.

In addition, Dr. Waite was an adjunct faculty at six colleges and universities, including the University of St. Thomas, where he has taught Technical Communication for the Graduate Programs in Software department since 1992.
