In the early 1970s, he managed a mail order music business, while studying Physics and Mathematics.Over the next decade and a half, he worked as an expediter at Univac, a programmer at Sears, an office manager for the Energy Companies of Mid-America, and gave science demonstrations as a staff member at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

In 1987, he began work for the Computing Center at the University of St. Thomas. A few years later, he began working exclusively for our Computer Science and Software Engineering programs. Tim helped with the planning of the Frey Science & Engineering Center, and works closely with a small staff and two dozen student workers to keep our classrooms, labs, software, and other computing resources running smoothly.

Besides his work at St. Thomas, Tim volunteers at the Science Museum of Minnesota, where he has been active for over 20 years. He is currently prototyping a fuel cell demonstration for the Experiment Gallery. Tim's other interests include computer technology, cyber security, developing better ways to encode and retrieve knowledge, alternative sources of energy, developing science shows, costuming, the environment, politics, and much more.
