Last year, St. Thomas students received more than $2,000,000 in private scholarships awarded by local foundations, agencies, corporations, and other groups that provide financial support to students. And, at St. Thomas the funds students earn in private scholarships go directly to reduce their tuition bill as we do not reduce our St. Thomas funding to students based on such awards.

Healthy Lifestyle Scholarship
This $5,000 scholarship is available to high school seniors and current first year college students who will answer questions and submit their essay involving healthy lifestyles.
Mike Warter College Scholarship
One male and one female Minnesota high school senior soccer player who is registered to a MN Youth Soccer Association club can receive this scholarship.
Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest
Applicants are high school juniors and seniors who will write an essay on one of five topics posed for this year's competition.
Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund
Grants are available to students who are actively working for peace and justice.
Minnesota Golf Association Foundation Scholarship
Available to high school senior girls and based on academic performance, financial need, character and a demonstrated interest or involvement in golf.
Applicants respond in 250 words or less to the topic "Which superhero or villain would you want to change places with for a day and why?"
Odenza Vacations Marketing Scholarship
Applicants will submit an essay to apply for this $500 scholarship.
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships valued up to $7,500 are available to minority high school students showing leadership potential.
Novotni Scholarship for Students with ADHD
Applicants can be current high school seniors or current college students who have been diagnosed with AD/HD by a licensed physician or mental health professional.
Wasie Scholarship Program
Students of 100% Polish ancestry can apply for this scholarship which is based on financial need, academic ability, leadership qualities, involvement in extra-curricular activities and clearly defined educational goals.
Willis Drake Young Entrepreneur Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen at the University of St. Thomas who have an interest in Entrepreneurship and who have been accepted for undergraduate admission.
National Society of Accountants Scholarship
Scholarships are available to undergraduate students majoring in accounting and who have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Body by Milk Scholarship
High school seniors who are student athletes and excel in academics and community service can apply for this scholarship.
Frame My Future Scholarship Contest
Applicants will create an original entry that shares what you want to achieve in your personal and professional life after college.
Through the Looking Glass for Students of Parents with Disabilities Scholarship Program
A scholarship is available for a current high school senior and a second scholarship is available for current college students. The scholarships will go to students of parents with disabilities and will be based on academic performance, community service, letter of recommendation and an essay describing the experience of growing up with a parent with a disability.
Capstone Community Scholarship Program
Available to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Pre-school Education, Elementary Education, Library Science, English, Publishing, Graphic Design or English as a Second Language.
Twin Cities in Motion College Scholarship Program
A one-time $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one female and one male high school senior who participates in cross-country or track. Applicants must be from the 11 county metro area. Demonstrated academic success, leadership, and commitment to community service are considered in the selection process.
American Chemistry Society (ACS) Scholars Program
Scholarships are available to high school seniors and college students who are African American, Native American, or Hispanic and who want to pursue study in a chemically-related field.
Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship
Awards are available for undergraduates who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding and who will participate in a study abroad program during the 2012 summer term or the 2012 fall term.
Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
Available to high school seniors and undergraduate students who are interested in a career in the automotive or related industry and who plan on majoring in a course of study that focuses on Engineering/Technology or select Design and Business programs of study.
Lowe's Scholarship Program
Scholarships are available to high school seniors who demonstrate a history of commitment to their community through leadership activities, community service and/or work experience. Lowe's also offers another scholarship (Carl Buchan Scholarship) to Lowe's employees, spouses, and dependents.
St. Thomas Communication and Journalism Department Scholarships
Scholarships are available to current journalism majors at St. Thomas and also incoming freshmen who have been admitted and intend to major in Communication and Journalism.
Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship
Applicants must be entering a four-year accredited college within 12 months (current college students are not eligible) and submit an essay responding to the impact of Alzheimer's disease on your life.
United Negro Scholarship Fund - AT&T Foundation Scholarship
Valued up to $2,500, this scholarship program is offered to high school and college students who are African American and children of AT&T employees.
Best Buy Scholarship Program
Students in grades 9-12 who have solid grades and are involved in community service or work experience are encouraged to apply.
