Veterans and/or their dependents may be entitled to benefits from a variety of programs to assist with educational expenses.

Post 9/11 Montgomery G.I. Bill
Description and Eligibility:
Up to 36 months of educational benefits are available to individuals who have at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001 or if you were discharged with a service disability after 30 days.

Yellow Ribbon Program
Description and Eligibility:
Provides additional tuition assistance for veterans eligible for 100% of Chapter 33 benefits on a first-come, first-served basis.

Montgomery G.I. Bill
Description and Eligibility:
Educational benefits are available to individuals who entered active duty for the first time after June 30, 1985.

Minnesota G.I. Bill
The Minnesota G.I. Bill program is a new program established in 2007 to provide postsecondary educational assistance to eligible MN veterans who served on or after September 11, 2001. Full-time undergraduate or graduate students may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 per semester and part-time students can receive up to $500 per semester.

National Guard Benefits
Description and Eligibility:
Active members of the Minnesota Army or Air National Guard may be eligible for the Minnesota Tuition and Textbook Reimbursement Grant program and free examination programs such as the College Level Evaluation Program and the DANTES Subject Standardized Tests.
