Policy on the Certification/Approval of Student Loans

Student Loans (i.e. Federal Direct, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS, Private Educational Loans) can be certified by the Financial Aid Office prior to a student's intended enrollment or during the actual enrollment period. All student loans (Federal and Private) are certified for the enrollment period for the student's program (i.e. academic year) and are generally disbursed equally among terms in that enrollment period. Private Educational Loans will not be certified after a period of enrollment unless the student has a past due balance with the University (i.e. referred to as a "Look Back Loan"). In that case, the maximum amount of loan that will be approved will be for the exact amount of the student's outstanding balance with the University. NOTE: Bar Exam Loans for Law students are different and will be certified/approved according to the terms of the lender.
