Applying for Financial Aid
The Basic Application Process
- Obtain a personal identification number (PIN) from the U.S. Department of Education at www.pin.ed.gov.
- Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov, listing University of St. Thomas, school code 002345, as an institution to receive your information.
- The default address for the University of St. Thomas is 2115 Summit Ave, St. Paul, MN. If your program is in Minneapolis, another location or online the graduate financial aid office will receive your FAFSA results successfully.
- Be admitted as a degree-seeking student in an eligible graduate program. Certificate-only and some licensure students are not eligible for federal financial aid at UST; however, are eligible for private loans (no FAFSA required).
St. Thomas determines your financial aid eligibility and sends you a Notification of Award once all requested information has been received and processed. This notification will list the types of aid programs and the amounts for which you qualify.
