Faculty Writers Retreat—back by popular demand!
This January term, the Center for Writing and Faculty Development will be offering another 1 week on-campus retreat for faculty to make substantial progress on their writing projects. Faculty involved in the first retreat this past June described the immediate impact this time had on their work and the long-term benefits for their productivity:
- I realized how important a physically and aesthetically comfortable working environment is to me. The daily journaling was really important and is something that I have continued to do. Ever since the retreat, I write 6 days a week in the mornings.
- The retreat is perfectly set up to encourage gaining momentum on our writing. And it happened!
The next Faculty Writers Retreat will be held January 10-14, 2011, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. during the second week of January. You will have a quiet space where you can establish your individual work space and write among other focused, productive faculty. This is not an opportunity for research; in fact, you’ll need to refrain from accessing the Internet or your email so that you can focus exclusively on writing and revising.
All faculty are welcome, although we’ll be needing to cap the total number of those involved.
