The Center for Faculty Development collaborates with St. Thomas' Office of Sponsored Programs and the Corporate and Foundation Relations Office to provide occasional workshops on grant-seeking and grant writing.
We also offer annual information sessions for faculty preparing to submit internal Faculty Development grants such as the Sabbatical Leave, Sabbatical Assistance, and Research Grants. Information sessions are announced on our website, in Synergia, and by e-mail.
Sabbatical Prep: An information session, offered annually in late August with members of the Faculty Development Committee, offers tips and answers questions about Sabbatical Leave and Sabbatical Assistance Grant applications.
Research Grant: An information session, offered in late Fall, provides tips for faculty preparing a Research Grant. Members of the Faculty Development Committee facilitate the session and are available to answer questions about the Research Grant, eligibility, and application process.
Publishing Scholarly Work
Dr. Stephen Brookfield, John Ireland Endowed Chair at the University of St. Thomas, provides workshops for faculty seeking support in publishing their scholarly work. The workshop “Publishing Book Proposals for Scholarly Writers” is offered each year and orients faculty to the main elements of a book proposal, how to approach publishers, and the process of writing a preliminary proposal.
Dr. Brookfield is available for individual consultations regarding scholarly publishing. He can be reached at (651) 962-4982 or by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
