You’ll be asked to describe your vision for the future and how you’ll achieve your goals. We’ll conclude this module by agreeing upon ways to stay connected – and continue learning – now that formal program is complete.

Cohort Model

Your learning experience will be greatly enhanced by our cohort approach. A group of approximately 20 physicians work closely together during the entire 18-month program. You begin together, develop close relationships with one another, and celebrate your success together upon graduation.

Participants like having cohorts. It reminds them that they are not alone in the challenges they face while trying to navigate and embrace the role of leader.

When creating a cohort, we pay close attention to individual learning styles and group demographics. Our goal is to achieve a balance of perspectives so that you gain as much as possible from the program.

Executive Coaching/Mentorship

Throughout the 18 months, you will meet with an executive coach who is experienced in working with physician leaders.   In addition, each participant will be asked to identify a mentor   who will be available for support and encouragement throughout the program. (Most people choose an experienced physician with leadership skills they want to emulate.)

You will create a “contract” with your mentor or coach that establishes the parameters of your interactions. The faculty of the Physician Leadership College will also play a role in facilitating and monitoring these important relationships.
