Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program
From 2008-2012, the McNair Scholars Program served over 65 students in numerous fields of study at the University of St. Thomas. National McNair programs serve low-income and first-generation students and students underrepresented in their area of study who wish to attain their Ph.D. upon completion of the baccalaureate degree. The UST McNair Scholars Program was dedicated to providing the research, professional, and academic tools necessary for scholars to succeed in graduate studies. Due to federal funding cuts, the McNair Scholars Program is no longer active at the University of St. Thomas.
The Excel! Research Scholars Program was launched in 2013 to continue the University's committment to helping first-generation undergraduates and students with U.S. miliarty status graduate and move on to pursue graduate education. Although not the same program, the Excel! Research Scholars Program's design is similar to the McNair Scholars Program in order to provide the best possible course for the Excel! Research Scholars.
The University of St. Thomas continues to serve current McNair Scholars who have not yet received their baccalaureate degree and seek to attain their Ph.D.
