We are very excited to welcome a new faculty member to the environmental science program. Dr. Jennifer McGuire comes to us from Texas A & M University. She will be teaching courses in hydrogeology, environmental geology, environmental geochemistry, and, possibly, medical geology. Her background and reseasrch is truly interdisciplinary. She considers herself a biogeochemist, which about covers all of the bases. Her work is on the fate and transport of chemical species in shallow groundwater systems, including the role of microbes in these systems. She is also interested in environmental toxicology and low temperature aqueous geochemistry. She will bring this interdisciplinary expertise to bear on her teaching in ESCI 310, Environmental Problem-solving this spring.
On Tuesday, October 21, at noon, please come to an information session on the Environmental Science major. Come meet faculty, learn about the program, and get your questions answered! Where: O'Shaughnessy Science Hall 124.
