About Us & Our Mission

Environmental Studies emphasizes the dynamic interactions between human societies and systems of ethics, law, policy, and social organizations, and the physical systems upon which we depend.  Three fundamental objectives of the major are:  (1) to transmit an understanding of environmental problems and their complexities, (2) to motivate productive responses to these problems, both vocational and avocational, based on that understanding, and (3) to foster the development of critical and inquiring minds.
