Victorian Networks & the Periodical Press

The 2009 RSVP conference will explore the ways in which the periodical press relied on a variety of networks, including journalistic, business, communication, technology, transportation, imperialist, immigration, political, activist, scientific, philosophical, literary, artistic, and other social networks. The program will include several panels and two plenary speakers as well as workshops devoted to digital resources and methods of teaching periodicals. Pre-conference activities include the William Holman Hunt and the Pre-Raphaelite Vision exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

The conference will be held on the beautiful downtown Minneapolis campus of the University of St. Thomas. The conference hotel is the Doubletree Guest Suites, located across the street from the St. Thomas campus. Rooms priced at the conference rate have been reserved for August 20, 21, and 22.
