There are a wealth of opportunities for undergraduate English majors and minors when it comes to studying abroad. Whether you are looking for a short-term experience during January or a semester/year-long experience, the International Education Center at St. Thomas can help you find just the right program.
The English Department strongly encourages all of its majors and minors to participate in a study abroad program. English majors may be particularly interested in the Glasgow English Program, which allows UST students to take two English literature courses along with one or two other courses in other departments--such as Theology or History--at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Specific courses abroad may substitute for St. Thomas English distribution requirements and other major, minor, or core course requirements.
Please note that financial aid packages follow students overseas on approved semester and year-long programs. We also encourage you to inquire from International Education about study abroad scholarships; those interested in short-term programs can inquire about available loans.
Did you know that UST English majors and minors have the ability to take coursework in Australia and New Zealand? Check out the educational programs available to majors and minors via this link on the UST Study Abroad website.
