Poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil, named as one of thirteen "Young Poets to Watch" by former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove, gave a great reading to a huge audience in Woulfe Hall on Monday evening. Nezhukumatathil, the ACTC Visiting Writer at St. Thomas this fall, read selections from her three poetry collections published by Tupelo Press--Miracle Fruit, At the Drive-In Volcano, and Lucky Fish. Students were reading Nezhukumatathil's poetry in their English classes this month as part of the English Department's Common Context program, which is focusing on the theme of "wonder" during the 2012-2014 academic year. After the reading, Nezhukumatathil spent over an hour signing books and chatting with audience members.
