Graduate English students in Dr. Alexis Easley's GENG 573 Professional Editing class were recently in correspondence with Emily Meier, an author who has self-published six books. Meier's inspiring story about her journey and the energy it took to get her books published can be found in the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper: http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/books/144684115.html?refer=y.
Students in Easley's class asked a number of questions related to writer/editor relationships, the process of editing one's own work, criteria used to judge applicants for a publishing position, and more. A transcript of these questions and Meier's answers to them can be found on her website: http://emilymeier.com/interview/on-editing/alexis-easley-et-al.
