Majors Present at ACTC English Majors Conference

Five English majors represented St. Thomas at the annual ACTC (Associated Colleges of the Twin Cities) English Majors Conference, which was held at Augsburg College on Friday, April 20th. Four students presented at individual panel events and one gave a reading from his creative writing. Below are the names of the students that presented at the conference:

  • American Literature Panel: Francisca Marino-Rojas presented "Borderlands in the Borderland: Finding Gloria Anzaldua's Theory in Sandra Cisneros's Work"
  • British Literature Panel: Samantha Schwab presented "Emotions and Manipulations in Act I, Scene II of Richard II"
  • World/Multicultural Literature Panel: Katie Matejka presented "The Role of Aude in the Song of Roland"
  • Theory/Film Panel: Carter Mulcrone presented "All Are Symbols: Corky Gonzalez's 'I am Joaquin' and Gloria Anzaldua's Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza"
  • Creative Writing Reading: Michael McSherry read selections from his short fiction

The department thanks these students for the work that they put into preparing their presentations and reading and congratulates them on their accomplishment!
