Explore the Master of Arts in English!

The Master of Arts is offered through the University of St. Thomas's Department of English. The master's program has approximately 65 graduate students enrolled in any given semester, and is taught by a strong and diverse faculty of 28 full-time members whose teaching duties extend across graduate and undergraduate programs.

Faculty specializations include all areas of English and American literature, multicultural studies including Anglo-Irish, Caribbean, and African-American literature, comparative literature, creative writing, expository writing, literary theory, rhetorical theory, and writing pedagogy.

Taken together, our current full-time faculty have authored or edited over 20 books and over 150 articles, short stories, and poems in scholarly journals and literary publications. The department is also home to the journal New Hibernia Review: A Quarterly Record of Irish Studies.
