You may take two 500-level courses at non-degree status, after which you will need to apply for degree-seeking status if you wish to continue in the program. If you are granted the degree-seeking status, your courses taken as a non-degree student will be applied towards your M.A. in English program requirements. Please note that admission as a non-degree student does not automatically guarantee that degree-seeking status will be granted.
You can apply to convert your status by simply writing a notice of intent to convert to the Graduate Program Coordinator at gradenglish@stthomas.edu, following the regular application deadlines for the materials needed as noted below.
October 1 for spring enrollment at the new status
March 1 for summer or fall enrollment at the new status.
