Assistant Professor Nathan Hill, our newest faculty member in creative writing, will read excerpts from his novel-in-progress A Body For Each of Us and discuss his creative process. The novel, a story about a mother who abandons her family and, many years later, reunites with her estranged son, investigates the ways people are cut off, detached, and disconnected from each other. Professor Hill's short stories have appeared in AGNI, The Denver Quarterly, Fugue, The Sycamore Review, and several other journals. He was the winner of the annual Short Story Prize from the journal Fiction for his story “The Bottle.” And last month The Iowa Review nominated his story "SuperAngel" for a Pushcart Prize.
