Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen
Board of Governor's Scholarship:
Application Deadline: Feb 6, 2015
A $10,000 Board of Governor’s Scholarship is competitively awarded to an entering first year student planning to major in engineering. Applicants must complete a special scholarship application and an application for admission by the deadline.
Science, Mathematics and Engineering Scholarship:
Application Deadline: Dec 15, 2014
Two full-tuition and two $8,000 Science, Mathematics and Engineering scholarships are competitively awarded to entering first year students planning to major in science, mathematics or engineering. Applicants must complete a special scholarship application and an application for admission by the deadline.
Scholarships for Returning Students
Application Deadline: Friday, February 12th, 2016
The School of Engineering is pleased to announce that up to ten scholarships valued between $500 and $2,000 will be made available for returning engineering students for the 2016-2017 academic year. The scholarships are provided by the generous contributions from the Dale Irwin Hayes Scholarship Fund, the Samuel M. Paine Navy V-12 Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Michael and Rebecca Thyken Endowment, the Thomas Rowan Endowment, the Houliston STEPS Camp Alumni Scholarship, the Aaron Schuster Memorial Endowment, the John B. Brill Endowment, the Keith and Barbara Zell Endowment, and the John E. Povolny Endowment. We are truly grateful for the continued support of these sponsors.
To be eligible, all applicants must be enrolled in Engineering. The School of Engineering has developed a single Returning Student Engineering Scholarship Application Form to facilitate the awards process. The application form is attached, and additional copies are available in the Engineering Office (OSS 100) and on the School of Engineering website.
Applicants should submit their completed forms with attached written statements to the Engineering Office by February 12th, 2016. The awards will be announced in May.
Some of the scholarships have criteria based on financial need. Financial need is determined via your annual FAFSA form, so please be sure to complete the FAFSA for the current academic year if you wish to be considered for need-based scholarships.
