The University of St. Thomas School of Engineering held its 6th annual Meet the Engineers of the Future event on October 10th, 2008.
44 undergraduate and graduate students participated in the reverse job fair, along with 28 representatives from local companies. The event offered students the opportunity to speak one-on-one with potential employers about internships or full-time positions. Each of the participating students made a poster highlighting projects they have worked on, courses they have taken, and previous work experience. The reverse job fair format allowed company representatives to approach the students and talk with each one individually about their career interests.
Joel Limoges, a representative from Xcel Energy said, “I was very impressed by the students. Every one of them shook my hand and looked me straight in the eye. They were able to eloquently describe what they were looking for and their experience.” The event was a big success!
