Dr. Bennett said that he will be working on the same kinds of things that "we've been doing together at UST for the past 15 years - building the K12 pipeline of STEM educated students, helping increase diversity of students going on to post-secondary education and, through this work, providing regional industry with the workforce of the future to increase Minnesota's position in the global economy and helping people build rewarding, productive lives."

Current Engineering Dean, Don Weinkauf, stated that “The development of a strong workforce to meet the needs of our tremendous engineering and manufacturing base in Minnesota is a primary concern for the State.  It’s an outstanding honor for Ron to be selected for this role, and in reality, it’s the perfect fit of needs and talents.”

The University of St Thomas has granted a leave to Dr. Bennett to allow him to serve his duties with MnCEME.
