What classes should I take?

We encourage you to meet with your advisor to plan out which courses you should take in each upcoming semester.

Please meet with your advisor to complete a degree program schedule. Courses are normally offered in the same Spring/Fall pattern of the previous year, but occasionally changes are made to the curriculum plan for each degree. Meet with your advisor on a regular basis. Take your core and required courses early in your program as they may not fit your plan toward the completion of your degree.

To further assist you in planning, you can find a list of required courses and electives, curriculum checklists, and program advisor contact information for each degree plan on our Graduate Engineering web site:

You can monitor the Spring and Fall Schedules for upcoming graduate engineering courses listed in Classfinder.

To check on your degree progress, go to MURPHY online and run the degree evaluation function.

Graduation/Commencement:  There is one commencement ceremony each year held in May (end of Spring semester). Summer and Fall graduates are eligible to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony. Please submit the Graduate Engineering Application for Award of Degree form to Graduate Engineering at gradengineering@stthomas.edu.
