Career

Tom grew up in Winona, MN and joined the full time faculty in the fall of 2011.  Before coming to the University of St. Thomas, Tom worked on drag reduction studies funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) as well as atomization studies funded by the Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment (IREE) to promote expanded use of minimally-processed biofuels.  His research interests include experimental fluid mechanics, flow visualization, and energy systems.  Additionally, Tom is active with the American Society of Engineering Education as well as energy education outreach to people of all ages.
